ABOUT

My work is preoccupied by speculative fiction, and an interest in how art practice can be a vehicle to challenge the reproduction of power. The way that I work is inherently interdisciplinary, but often draws together sculptural, performative, and text-based methodologies. Since 2024, hand made chainmail has been an integral material within my practice. I am interested in the potential to subvert its historical reference to tell folkloric, fantasy and scifi stories.

Lived contemporary experiences of supernatural and extraterrestrial interaction are recurring themes within my practice. I am interested in the way that we believe in, welcome and care for such beings, and how watching the skies could become a political act. I like to explore my interests through pop culture references, fan fictioning (both textual and material) and collecting memorabilia. At heart, I am a treasure hunter; My practice is exposed as much in the studio as it is during ritualistic midnight scrolling through eBay. I have a fondness for absurdity, second wave internet nostalgia, and the visual language of belief.

Significant projects have included a funded residency in the Atacama Desert, Chile, and sitting on the Artist Citizens Jury to interrogate UK practice-based research funding.
